1. (a) In addition to a physical credential issued under this article, upon request by an applicant, the bureau may issue a mobile credential to an individual who satisfies the requirements for application under this article for the following:

   1. (1) A driver's license.
   2. (2) A learner's permit.
   3. (3) An identification card.

2. (b) The bureau shall not issue a mobile credential for:

   1. (1) a commercial driver's license issued under IC 9-24-6.1 ;
   2. (2) a commercial learner's permit issued under IC 9-24-6.1 ; or
   3. (3) a photo exempt identification card issued under IC 9-24-16.5 .
3. (c) Notwithstanding the July 1, 2021, effective date in HEA 1506-2019, SECTION 55 (P.L.178-2019), this section takes effect July 1, 2020 (rather than July 1, 2021).
