1. (a) An Indiana resident who is an active member of the Army or Air National Guard may apply for and receive one (1) or more license plates under this chapter.

2. (b) An individual applying for a National Guard license plate under this chapter must demonstrate the individual's status as an active member of the Army or Air National Guard by presenting the following with the person's application:

   1. (1) A current United States armed forces identification card.

   2. (2) A letter signed by the individual's commanding officer identifying the individual as a current active member.
