1. (a) After December 31, 2013, the following individuals may not wager on horse racing at a licensed facility:

   1. (1) A member of the commission.
   2. (2) An employee of the commission.
   3. (3) A racing official.
   4. (4) The spouse of any individual listed in subdivisions (1) through (3).

2. (b) After December 31, 2017, the following individuals may not wager on gambling games at a facility licensed under IC 4-35 :

   1. (1) A member of the commission.

   2. (2) The following individuals employed by the commission:

      1. (A) The executive director.
      2. (B) The assistant executive director.
      3. (C) The director of security.
      4. (D) The general counsel.
      5. (E) The deputy general counsel.
      6. (F) A steward.
      7. (G) A judge.
   3. (3) The spouse of an individual described in subdivision (1) or (2).
3. (c) A person who knowingly or intentionally violates this section commits a Class A misdemeanor.
