Any person injuring or losing a book, document, plaque, marker, or sign belonging to the department is liable for threefold damages, and if the book injured or lost be one (1) volume of a set the person is liable for the whole set, but on paying for the same, the person may take the broken set. All money received under this section shall be deposited in the state library publications fund.
