Ind. Code § 35-47-15-2
"Law enforcement agency"

As used in this chapter, "law enforcement agency" means an agency or department of:
- (1) the state;
- (2) a political subdivision of the state; or
(3) a tribe;
whose principal function is the apprehension of criminal offenders.
