A person who is not an attorney and who:

1. (1) knowingly or intentionally solicits, advises, requests, or induces another person to bring an action in a court; and

2. (2) in making a solicitation under subdivision (1), directly or indirectly receives any compensation, fee, or commission from the attorney for the solicitation;

   commits unlawful solicitation, a Class A misdemeanor.
