A person who, with the intent to obtain money, property, or another benefit, knowingly or intentionally:
(1) fraudulently represents himself or herself to be an active member or veteran of:
- (A) the United States Air Force;
- (B) the United States Army;
- (C) the United States Coast Guard;
- (D) the United States Marines;
- (E) the United States National Guard;
- (F) the United States Navy; or
- (G) a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States;
- (2) uses a falsified military identification; or
(3) fraudulently represents himself or herself to be a recipient of the:
- (A) Congressional Medal of Honor;
- (B) Distinguished Service Cross;
- (C) Navy Cross;
- (D) Air Force Cross;
- (E) Silver Star;
- (F) Purple Heart;
- (G) Combat Infantryman Badge;
- (H) Combat Action Badge;
- (I) Combat Medical Badge;
- (J) Combat Action Ribbon; or
(K) Air Force Combat Action Medal;
commits stolen valor, a Class A misdemeanor.
