Effective 1-1-2018.

1. (b) Except as provided in subsection (c), the secretary of state may attest to the authenticity of a signature or certify a signature of a notary public.

2. (c) The secretary of state may not certify or attest to the signature of a notary public on a document regarding:

   1. (1) allegiance to a government or jurisdiction;
   2. (2) the relinquishment or renunciation of citizenship, military status, sovereignty, or world service authority; or
   3. (3) a claim of immunity from the jurisdiction of the United States, the laws of any state of the United States, or federal law.

Sec. 1. (a) The secretary of state may attest to the authenticity of the signature of a public official in Indiana.
