Ind. Code § 33-33-89-8

Judicial powers

As added by P.L.98-2004, SEC.12.
  1. (a) The judge of the Wayne superior court No. 1:

    1. (1) may make and adopt rules and regulations for conducting the business of the Wayne superior court; and
    2. (2) has all the powers incident to a court of record in relation to the attendance of witnesses, punishment of contempt, and the enforcement of its orders.
  2. (b) The judge of the court may:

    1. (1) administer oaths;
    2. (2) solemnize marriages;
    3. (3) take and certify acknowledgment of deeds;
    4. (4) give all necessary certificates for the authentication of records and proceedings of the court; and
    5. (5) make and execute certificates of qualification and moral character of persons petitioning to be commissioned as notaries public.
