Ind. Code § 25-28.5-1-4 – Members of commission; appointment; terms; vacancies; dual office holding prohibited

(a) The commission shall consist of six (6) members to be appointed by the governor. Each member appointed shall be a citizen and resident of this state. Two (2) of the members shall be actively engaged in the plumbing contracting business for not less than five (5) years immediately prior to his appointment or shall have had ten (10) years experience in the plumbing contracting business. Two (2) of the members shall be persons who for not less than five (5) years immediately prior to their appointment have been employed as journeymen plumbers. One (1) member shall be the commissioner of the state department of health or a member of the commissioner's professional staff. One (1) member, appointed to represent the general public, may never have been associated with plumbing in any way other than as a consumer. The term of all members of the commission shall be for three (3) years and until their successors are appointed and qualified.
(b) Members appointed by the governor to fill vacancies shall hold office for the unexpired term. At no time shall there be more than four
(4) members of the same political faith on the commission. No person, other than the representative of the state department of health, shall act as a member of the commission while holding another elective or appointive office either state or federal.
