- (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), the board may issue a certificate to an applicant for certification if the applicant presents evidence that the applicant has been issued a certificate in a state that has requirements for certification that are, by the board's determination, equivalent to the requirements for certification in Indiana. An applicant applying for a certificate under this subsection is not required to take an examination given by the board under IC 25-14.5-5 .
- (b) The board may refuse to issue a certificate under subsection (a) if the applicant has failed an examination given by the board under IC 25-14.5-5 .
- (c) The fee an applicant for certification must pay for a certificate issued under subsection (a) shall be set by the board under IC 25-14.5-2-5 .
