As used in this chapter, "member of the armed forces" means an individual who served on active duty in the:

1. (1) United States Army;
2. (2) United States Navy;
3. (3) United States Air Force;
4. (4) United States Marine Corps;
5. (5) United States Space Force; or
6. (6) United States Coast Guard.
