1. (a) The board of trustees of Ivy Tech Community College shall select and employ a president of the state educational institution, with qualifications set out, and other staff and professional employees as are required.

2. (b) This subsection expires July 1, 2020. The president shall select and employ two (2) vice presidents, one (1) for each of the following, subject to confirmation by the board of trustees:

   1. (1) One (1) whose focus is on programs and pathways designed to meet workforce and employer demand.

   2. (2) One (1) whose focus is on academics and transferability of program and pathway credits.

      The president shall ensure alignment between the activities managed by each vice president.
