1. (a) In a school corporation's cumulative count of pupils in homebound programs, a school corporation shall count each pupil who received homebound instruction up to and including December 1 of the current year plus each pupil who received homebound instruction after December 1 of the prior school year.

2. (b) In addition to the cumulative count described in subsection (a), a school corporation shall conduct a cumulative count of pupils in homebound programs for informational purposes and is not used to calculate grants under this chapter. In a school corporation's informational cumulative count of pupils in homebound programs, a school corporation shall count each pupil who received homebound instruction:

   1. (1) for the December 1 count, up to and including the December 1 count date of the current year plus each pupil who received homebound instruction after the spring count date of the prior school year; and
   2. (2) for the spring count, up to and including the spring count date of the current year plus each pupil who received homebound instruction after the December 1 count date of the current school year.

3. (c) A school corporation may include a pupil in the school corporation's cumulative count of pupils in homebound programs even if the pupil also is included in the school corporation's:

   1. (1) nonduplicated count of pupils in programs for severe disabilities;
   2. (2) nonduplicated count of pupils in programs for mild and moderate disabilities; or

   3. (3) duplicated count of pupils in programs for communication disorders.
