1. (a) In addition to the amount a school corporation is entitled to receive in basic tuition support, each school corporation is entitled to receive a grant for a non-English speaking program for students who have a primary language other than English and limited English proficiency as determined under this section.

2. (b) Subject to subsection (c), for state fiscal years beginning after June 30, 2023, the grant amount is determined under the last STEP of the following formula:

   1. (A) who score at level one (1) or level two (2) on the WIDA Consortium ACCESS assessment; or

   2. (B) who are English language learners with severe special needs that require a different assessment than the assessment described in clause (A) to assess English proficiency.

      STEP TWO: Multiply the STEP ONE result by:

   3. (A) five hundred forty-seven dollars ($547) for the state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025; and

   4. (B) five hundred forty-nine dollars ($549) for the state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.

      STEP THREE: Determine the number of students:

   5. (A) who score at level three (3) or level four (4) on the WIDA Consortium ACCESS assessment; or

   6. (B) who score at level five (5) or higher on the Tier A form of the WIDA Consortium ACCESS assessment.

      STEP FOUR: Multiply the STEP THREE result by:

   7. (A) three hundred eighty-two dollars ($382) for the state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025; and

   8. (B) three hundred eighty-three dollars ($383) for the state fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.

      STEP FIVE: Determine the sum of the STEP TWO amount and the STEP FOUR amount.

   STEP ONE: Determine the number of students:

3. (c) For purposes of calculating the grant amount under this section for Gary Middle College charter schools, only students who are less than twenty-three (23) years of age may be counted in the formula under subsection (c).
