Ind. Code § 20-33-3-8
(a) The issuing officer in each accredited school (as described in IC 20-19-2-8 (a)(5)) shall be an individual who is:
(3) an attendance officer for the school corporation and a teacher licensed by the division of professional standards of the department under IC 20-28-4 or IC 20-28-5 ;
and designated in writing by the principal.
(a) is not employed by the school or when school is not in session, there shall be an issuing officer available:
(2) whose identity and hours of work shall be determined by the principal.
