This article applies only to the following:

1. (1) Except as provided in IC 20-31-4-1.1 , public schools.

2. (2) Except as provided in IC 20-31-7 and IC 20-31-9 , nonpublic schools that voluntarily become accredited under IC 20-19-2-8 .
