1. (a) The state department shall adopt emergency rules in the manner provided under IC 4-22-2-37.1 to amend provisions in 410 IAC 5.1 that concern the following:

   1. (1) The certification and standards requirements recommended by the federal Environmental Protection Agency applicable to:

      1. (A) radon testing;
      2. (B) radon mitigation; and
      3. (C) laboratory analysis.
   2. (2) Revisions and updates to the administrative rule's definitions and exclusions.

2. (b) Before December 31, 2021, the state department shall adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to amend provisions in 410 IAC 5.1 that concern the following:

   1. (1) The certification and standards requirements recommended by the federal Environmental Protection Agency applicable to:

      1. (A) radon testing;
      2. (B) radon mitigation; and
      3. (C) laboratory analysis.
   2. (2) Revisions and updates to the administrative rule's definitions and exclusions.
3. (c) This section expires July 1, 2022.
