1. (a) The attending physician or health care provider shall prepare and attach to the body of a deceased individual a conspicuous notice with the statement: "Observe Body Fluid Precautions" whenever the physician or provider knows that at least one (1) of the following disease processes was present in the deceased at the time of death:

   1. (1) Hepatitis (Types B and C).
   2. (2) Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
   3. (3) Tuberculosis.
   4. (4) Herpes.
   5. (5) Gonorrhea.
   6. (6) Syphilis (primary and secondary).
   7. (7) Burkett's lymphoma.
   8. (8) Kaposi's sarcoma.
   9. (9) Arthropod-borne viral diseases.
   10. (10) Babesiosis.
   11. (11) Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
   12. (12) Leptospirosis.
   13. (13) Malaria.
   14. (14) Rat-bite fever.
   15. (15) Relapsing fever.
   16. (16) Y. Pestis.
   17. (17) Hemorrhagic fevers.
   18. (18) Rabies.
   19. (19) Any other communicable disease (as defined in IC 16-41-2 ).

2. (b) The notice required in this chapter must accompany the body when the body is picked up for disposition.
