As used in this chapter, "cardiopulmonary resuscitation" or "CPR" means cardiopulmonary resuscitation or a component of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including:

1. (1) cardiac compression;
2. (2) endotracheal intubation and other advanced airway management;
3. (3) artificial ventilation;
4. (4) defibrillation;
5. (5) administration of cardiac resuscitation medications; and

6. (6) related procedures.

   The term does not include the Heimlich maneuver or a similar procedure used to expel an obstruction from the throat.
