The governing board of a hospital may do the following for a hospital police department established by the governing board under section 2 of this chapter:

1. (1) Appoint hospital police officers.
2. (2) Prescribe the duties and direct the conduct of hospital police officers.
3. (3) Prescribe distinctive uniforms.
4. (4) Provide emergency vehicles.
5. (5) For a hospital police department of a nonprofit hospital, prescribe the jurisdiction for the nonprofit hospital police department.
