Ind. Code § 15-15-1-8
As used in this chapter, "hybrid" means the first generation of a cross produced by controlling the pollination, which will produce pure seed which is at least seventy-five percent (75%) hybrid seed, and by combining:
(3) two (2) selected clones, seed lines, varieties, or species.
Hybrid designations shall be treated as variety names.
