Ind. Code § 13-20-19-2
Requirements of coding
As added by P.L.1-1996, SEC.10.
Each bottle and plastic container described in section 1 of this chapter must be coded. The coding must consist of a three (3) sided triangular arrow with a number in the center and letters underneath. The number and letters must indicate the resin from which the container is made as follows:
- (1) One (1) and "PETE" for polyethylene terephthalate.
- (2) Two (2) and "HDPE" for high density polyethylene.
- (3) Three (3) and "V" for vinyl.
- (4) Four (4) and "LDPE" for low density polyethylene.
- (5) Five (5) and "PP" for polypropylene.
- (6) Six (6) and "PS" for polystyrene.
(7) Seven (7) and "Other" for other materials, including multi-layer materials.
