1. (a) Public water system annual operation fees begin accruing January 1 of each year.
2. (b) This subsection applies only to fees that are due in 2004. The department shall assess the public water system annual operation fees not earlier than July 1. Notwithstanding section 2 of this chapter, the annual fee assessed under this subsection is equal to one-third (1/3) of the fee required under section 2 of this chapter.
3. (c) This subsection applies only to fees that are due in 2005. The department shall assess the public water system annual operation fees not earlier than July 1. Notwithstanding section 2 of this chapter, the annual fee assessed under this subsection is equal to two-thirds (2/3) of the fee required under section 2 of this chapter.
4. (d) Beginning in 2006 and in each year thereafter, the department shall assess public water system annual operation fees not later than January 15 of each year.
5. (e) A person must remit a public water system annual operation fee or an installment established under IC 13-16-2 to the department not more than thirty (30) days after the date the fee is assessed or on the date the installment is due.
