1. (a) The commission is composed of individuals who:

   1. (1) are:

      1. (A) current and former Medicaid beneficiaries; and
      2. (B) family members and caregivers of current and former Medicaid beneficiaries; and

   2. (2) are appointed as follows:

      1. (A) Four (4) members appointed by the administrator of the office.
      2. (B) One (1) member who is not a member of the general assembly, appointed by the president pro tempore of the senate.
      3. (C) One (1) member who is not a member of the general assembly, appointed by the minority leader of the senate.
      4. (D) One (1) member who is not a member of the general assembly, appointed by the speaker of the house.
      5. (E) One (1) member who is not a member of the general assembly, appointed by the minority leader of the house.
2. (b) The administrator of the office shall appoint the chair of the commission from among the members of the commission. The chair serves at the pleasure of the administrator.
