1. (a) The state fire marshal appointed under IC 22-14-2-2 shall do the following:

   1. (1) Serve as a deputy executive director to manage the division.
   2. (2) Administer the division.
   3. (3) Provide staff to support the fire prevention and building safety commission established by IC 22-12-2-1 .

2. (b) The state fire marshal may not exercise any powers or perform any duties specifically assigned to either of the following:

   1. (1) The fire prevention and building safety commission.
   2. (2) The state building commissioner.
3. (c) The state fire marshal may delegate the state fire marshal's authority to the appropriate division staff.
