1. 1. As used in this section:

   1. a. “Court employee” means the same as defined in section 602.1101.
   2. b. “Family member” means a spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, grandfather, grandmother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister.
   3. c. “Judicial officer” means the same as defined in section 602.1101.
2. 2. A person who harasses a judicial officer, court employee, or a family member of a judicial officer or a court employee in violation of section 708.7, with the intent to interfere with or improperly influence, or in retaliation for, the official acts of a judicial officer or court employee, commits an aggravated misdemeanor.
