1. 1. The commission shall provide, by rule, for the establishment of a deer and wild turkey harvest reporting system for the purpose of collecting information from hunters concerning the deer and wild turkey population in this state. Each person who is issued a deer or wild turkey hunting license in this state shall report such information pursuant to this section. Information collected by the commission pursuant to the deer and wild turkey harvest reporting system from a hunter who takes a deer or wild turkey shall be limited to the following:

   1. a. The county where the deer or wild turkey was taken.
   2. b. The season during which the deer or wild turkey was taken.
   3. c. The sex of the deer or wild turkey taken.
   4. d. The age of the deer or wild turkey taken.
   5. e. The type of weapon used.
   6. f. The hunting license number of the hunter.
   7. g. The number of days the hunter hunted.
   8. h. The total number of deer or wild turkey taken by the hunter.

2. 2. The deer and wild turkey harvest reporting system established by the commission shall utilize and is limited to utilizing one or more of the following methods of reporting deer or wild turkey taken by hunters:

   1. a. A toll-free telephone number.
   2. b. A postcard.
   3. c. Reporting at an electronic licensing location.
   4. d. Electronic internet communication.
