1. 1. A doctor of optometry may be certified by the Board to administer pharmaceutical agents by injection for diagnosis or treatment purposes if one of the following conditions are met:

   1. (a) The doctor of optometry has successfully completed an injectable training program that has been approved by the Board consisting of a minimum of thirty (30) hours; or,
   2. (b) The doctor of optometry is enrolled in an injectable training program that has been approved by the Board consisting of a minimum of thirty (30) hours and is under the direct supervision of a physician licensed by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (O.C.G.A. §43-34) who is board certified in ophthalmology.
