Rule 360-39-.03. Temporary License
A temporary license may be issued to an individual who has made application to the board, has submitted evidence to the board of admission to examination for licensure, has met all of the requirements for licensure in accordance with this Code section, except for the examination requirement, and has met any other condition established by rule. The holder of a temporary license shall practice only under the supervision of a qualified supervisor and may not have the authority to order genetic tests. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit an applicant from reapplying for a temporary license if he or she meets the qualifications of this subsection. The Temporary license is only valid for 12 months. If the temporary licensee has not obtained certification by the end of the 12-month temporary license period, the applicant may apply for a temporary license renewal of another 12 months. The fee for renewal shall be designated in the fee schedule. For renewal consideration, the licensee must complete the application and submit a written recommendation by a qualified supervisor who has supervised applicant within the past 12 months. The applicant can continue to renew the 12-month temporary license until he or she is no longer eligible for active candidate status with ABGC or ABMG.
