Rule 120-2-97-.02. Scope and purpose
(1) This Regulation applies to any pharmacy benefits manager as defined in O.C.G.A. § 33-64-1. (2) The purposes of this Regulation include: (a) Providing the regulation and licensure of pharmacy benefits managers; (b) Promoting the financial responsibility of pharmacy benefits managers; (c) To protect the interests of the enrolled public; (d) To provide means by which to govern, regulate, and monitor the conduct of pharmacy benefits managers; (e) Subjecting those business entities defined in O.C.G.A. § 33-64-1 to the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Insurance; and (f) Regulating pharmacy benefits managers' practices in conformity with the general purposes of the Georgia Insurance Code.
