Rule 120-2-79-.02. Scope and Purpose

1. (1) This Regulation applies to any health plan purchasing cooperative as defined in O.C.G.A. § 33-30A-1.

2. (2) The purposes of this Regulation include:

   1. (a) Providing disclosure of contracts between insurance carriers and health plan purchasing cooperatives, both to potential insureds and to the Commissioner;
   2. (b) Promoting the overall responsibility of health plan purchasing cooperatives;
   3. (c) Subjecting persons administering health plan purchasing cooperatives to the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Insurance; and
   4. (d) Regulating health plan purchasing cooperatives in conformity with the general purposes of the Georgia Insurance Code.
