Fla. Stat. § 101.445
In counties in which voting machines are used, write-in ballots shall be deposited, written, or affixed in or upon the receptacle or device provided for that purpose. Each write-in ballot shall be cast in its appropriate place on the machine or it is void and shall not be counted. When a write-in ballot is cast, it shall not be necessary to use the (X) mark.
