Any person desiring to engage in or work as a plumbing contractor in the state in any county in which the board of county commissioners has not employed a plumbing inspector as provided in s. 553.05 is not required to give bond as required by s. 553.04 before engaging in or working as a plumbing contractor; anything in the provisions of this part to the contrary notwithstanding.
