Funding generated through the mental health disproportionate share program shall be expended in accordance with legislatively authorized appropriations. If such funding is not addressed in legislatively authorized appropriations, the ¹Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services shall prepare a plan and submit a request for spending authority in accordance with the applicable provisions of chapter 216.
