1705.1 Before the nominating petition is filed, all sheets which comprise the petition shall be assembled and serially numbered. The Board may refuse to accept any petition until it is so assembled and numbered.1705.2 Each nominating petition, when filed with the Board, shall be accompanied by a statement that a Declaration of Candidacy and Affidavit of Qualifications has been filed with the Board pursuant to Chapter 6 of this title.1705.3 Each candidate, whether nominated on an individual petition or on a petition containing the names of other candidates, shall file a Declaration of Candidacy and Affidavit of Qualifications.1705.4 The individual who files the petition shall execute an affidavit attesting that to the best of his or her knowledge and belief the petition being filed is complete and contains the legally required number of valid signatures.1705.5 The nominating petition, affidavit(s), and supplements, if any, shall be filed with the Board at its office no later than 5:00 p.m. on the date of the filing deadline required by law and announced by the Board.1705.6 A petition shall not be finally accepted by the Board for inclusion on the ballot unless:- (a) There has been filed with the Board a Declaration of Candidacy and Affidavit of Qualifications executed in accordance with the provisions of this section and Chapter 6 of this title;
- (b) The person filing the petition executes an affidavit pursuant to the provisions of this section; and
- (c) The petition is on a form provided by the Board and meets all the requirements of the provisions of this section and of the Election Act; provided, that the Board, in its discretion, may waive any formal error.1705.7 Any candidate who has met the requirements of this section may file petition supplements; provided, that the supplements meet all other pertinent provisions of this section and are accompanied by an affidavit executed by the person filing the supplements.1705.8 The Board may reject any nominating petition that is confusing, misleading or does not conform to the requirements of this section.
