Motivational Enhancement Therapy-cognitive Behavioral Therapy

9103.1 Motivational Enhancement Therapy–Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MET-CBT) is a short-term intervention designed for children/youth to increase their motivation to change a substance use behavior and the underlying thoughts or feelings that trigger maladaptive substance use behaviors.
9103.2 MET-CBT shall consist of:
- (a) Two (2) sessions of individual Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), each lasting at least sixty (60) minutes; and
- (b) Three (3) sessions of group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), each lasting at least seventy-five (75) minutes.
9103.3 Each MET and CBT session shall be billed separately, on a per-occurrence basis.
9103.4 MET-CBT shall:
- (a) Not require prior authorization; and
- (b) Be delivered in accordance with the requirements set forth in Chapter 63 of Title 22-A DCMR.
