D.C. Mun. Regs. tit. 29, § 5899
5899.1 When used in this chapter, the following terms and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed:
'Collateral Contact' - an oral confirmation, in-person or by telephone, of a person's or household's circumstances by a person outside of the household.
'DCPS' - the District of Columbia Public Schools.
'Department' - the Department of Human Services.
'DHS' - the District of Columbia Department of Human Services.
'Director' - the Director of the District of Columbia Department of Human Services.
'District' - agency of the government of the District of Columbia or any entity with which the government contracts for services.
'District of Columbia Public Assistance Act of 1982' - the District of Columbia Public Assistance Act of 1982, as amended, effective April 6, 1982 (D.C. Law 4-101; D.C. Official Code Section 4-201.1 et seq.)
'FY' - fiscal year.
'IMA' - the Income Maintenance Administration.
'Minor' - a person who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age.
'Participant' - a participant in a program which expends federal or D.C. funds to require or support work activities, including subsidized jobs, work experience, community service, and on-the-job training under TANF, Welfare-to-Work, and the Workforce Investment Act.
'POWER' - the Program on Work, Employment, and Responsibility.
'Pregnant or parenting teen' - a person who has a child or children, or is pregnant in the third trimester of the first pregnancy, and is under eighteen (18) years of age.
'Student' - is an individual who is attending a school, college, or university or a course of vocational or technical training designed to fit him or her for gainful employment and includes a participant in the Job Corps Program under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA), approved October 13, 1982, Pub.L. 97-300, 29 U.S.C. Section 1501 et seq. as amended.
'TANF' - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, as defined in the District of Columbia Public Assistance Act of 1982, as amended, effective April 6, 1982 (D.C. Law 4-101; D.C. Official Code Section 4-201.1 et seq.)
'Teen' - an individual who is less than twenty (20) years of age.
