2300.1 Under D.C. Code §43-1001 (1990 Repl. Vol.), the Commission shall maintain general supervision of all gas corporations having authority, under any general or special law or under any charter or franchise, to lay down, erect, or maintain wires, pipes, conduits, ducts, or other fixtures in, over or under the streets, highways, and public places in the District of Columbia for the purpose of furnishing or distributing gas for light, heat, or power.

2300.2 The Commission shall maintain general supervision of all gas manufacturing and processing plants operating in the District of Columbia.
