2310.1 The Comprehensive Plan has identified three areas in Rock Creek West as Policy Focus Areas, indicating that they require a level of direction and guidance above that in the prior section of this Area Element and in the Citywide Elements. These areas are shown in Map 23.1 and are listed in Figure 23.2. The policy focus areas include:

Connecticut Avenue corridor
Wisconsin Avenue corridor
Van Ness Commercial District

Each Policy Focus Area is addressed below.

2310.4 Two Future Planning Analysis Areas are located along Connecticut Avenue NW and Wisconsin Avenue NW. Within those Analysis Areas, additional finer-grained small area plans are needed at Friendship Heights, Tenleytown, Chevy Chase,

Cleveland Park, Forest Hills, and Woodley Park, and may be appropriate at other areas.
