Conn. Gen. Stat. § 13a-266 – Motor vehicle registration where penalty for exceeding speed limit in highway work zone detected by work zone speed control system is unpaid.

If an owner fails to

(1) pay the fine and any additional fee imposed for a violation or conviction of section 13a-263,
(2) submit a plea of not guilty by the answer date, or
(3) appear for any scheduled court appearance at the time and place assigned, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles may refuse to register or suspend the registration of the motor vehicle operated at the time of such violation.

History: P.A. 24-40 designated existing provision re fine imposed for violation of Sec. 13a-263 as Subdiv. (1) and amended same to delete provision re found guilty at trial, added Subdiv. (2) re plea of not guilty, added Subdiv. (3) re scheduled court appearance and made technical changes, effective July 1, 2024.
