Employees are eligible for a TQSE allowance if their agency has authorized one and the following conditions are met:

1. (a) The agency authorizes TQSE before occupancy of the temporary quarters begins;
2. (b) The new official station is located within the United States;
3. (c) The relocation authorization specifies the number of days allowed to receive TQSE;
4. (d) The employee has signed a service agreement;
5. (e) The old and new official stations are at least 50 miles apart (as measured by map distance) via a usually traveled surface route; and
6. (f) The employee meets the distance test (Note: If a waiver to the distance test is granted, the employee is not eligible for TQSE.).
