An initial aeronautical knowledge test and recurrent training covers the following areas of knowledge:

1. (a) Applicable regulations relating to small unmanned aircraft system rating privileges, limitations, and flight operation;
2. (b) Airspace classification, operating requirements, and flight restrictions affecting small unmanned aircraft operation;
3. (c) Aviation weather sources and effects of weather on small unmanned aircraft performance;
4. (d) Small unmanned aircraft loading;
5. (e) Emergency procedures;
6. (f) Crew resource management;
7. (g) Radio communication procedures;
8. (h) Determining the performance of the small unmanned aircraft;
9. (i) Physiological effects of drugs and alcohol;
10. (j) Aeronautical decision-making and judgment;
11. (k) Airport operations;
12. (l) Maintenance and preflight inspection procedures; and
13. (m) Operation at night.
