The authority shall be composed of all of the following members:

1. (1) A representative of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, selected by the President of the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
2. (2) The Director of the Auburn University Aviation Center, or his or her designee.
3. (3) The President of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, or his or her designee.
4. (4) The Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce, or his or her designee.
5. (5) The Director of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs, or his or her designee.
6. (6) The Director of the Department of Transportation, or his or her designee.
7. (7) The Finance Director, or his or her designee.
8. (8) The Secretary of Workforce, or his or her designee.

9. (9)

   1. a. Five members selected from the aerospace, aviation, and related industries, or individuals having knowledge or interest in space technology, according to the following manner: (i) One member appointed by the Governor; (ii) two members appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; and (iii) two members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.
   2. b. An appointed member of the authority shall serve a term concurrent with his or her appointing authority and at the pleasure of the appointing authority. Any vacancy in an appointed position shall be filled by the original appointing authority.
10. (10) The Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Commission, or his or her designee, who shall serve as an ex officio nonvoting member of the authority.
