A temporary operation plate issued under s. 341.09, Stats., shall be approximately 6” x 12” or, in the case of an on-line delivered temporary operation plate, shall be approximately 8.5” x 11” and shall contain:

1. (1) The word “Wisconsin”.
2. (2) A number of up to 8 characters determined by the department.
3. (3) The word “temporary”.
4. (4) The expiration date.
5. (5) A portion of the vehicle identification number as determined by the department.
