1. (1) Orientation. Before a new staff member is permitted to work independently with youth, the facility shall provide at least 40 hours of orientation training for the new staff member that includes all of the following areas:

   1. (a) Facility policies and procedures.
   2. (b) Facility operations and facility emergencies.
   3. (c) Rules under this chapter.
   4. (d) Youth grievance procedures under s. DOC 346.34.
   5. (e) First aid and use of emergency equipment.
   6. (f) Suicide and self-harm prevention.
   7. (g) Health screening and medications.
   8. (h) Use of restraints and control devices.
   9. (i) Supervision of youth.

2. (2) Annual training. Security staff shall receive at least 16 hours of annual training on the care and

   2. (b) Health screenings.
   3. (c) Procedures on use of force, restraints, and security control devices.
   4. (d) Fire safety equipment and evacuation procedures.
