Industrial uses of hand-held imaging intensification devices are exempt from the requirements of this subchapter if the dose rate 0.45 meters (18 inches) from the source of radiation to any individual does not exceed .02 mGy (2.0 mR) per hour. Industrial x-ray tubes are exempt from the inventory, leak testing and materials labeling requirements of this subchapter. All other requirements apply.
