Community service grants are limited to available funding. To qualify for funding, a proposed project must be approved by the assistant secretary or designee and:

1. (1) Address one or more of the following topics:

   1. (a) Provider support and development;
   2. (b) Parent helping parent; or
   3. (c) Community resource development for inclusion of all.

2. (2) Meet most of the following goals:

   1. (a) Enable families to use generic resources which are integrated activities and/or resources community members typically have access to;
   2. (b) Reflect geographic, cultural and other local differences;
   3. (c) Support families in a variety of noncrisis-oriented ways;
   4. (d) Prioritize support for unserved families;
   5. (e) Address the diverse needs of Native Americans, communities of color and limited or non-English speaking groups;
   6. (f) Be family focused;
   7. (g) Increase inclusion of persons with developmental disabilities;
   8. (h) Benefit families who have children or adults eligible for services from DDD and who do not receive other DDD paid services; and
   9. (i) Promote community collaboration, joint funding, planning and decision making.
