1. (1) The provider must follow the Food and Drug Administration guidelines on proper disposal of medications.

2. (2) When disposing a client's medication, the provider must list the:

   1. (a) Client's name;
   2. (b) Medication name;
   3. (c) Amount disposed; and
   4. (d) Date of disposal.
3. (3) Two people must verify the disposal by signature.
