State law makes it a crime to abandon a vulnerable adult. "Abandon" means leaving a person without the means or ability to obtain any of the basic necessities of life.

1. (1) If an individual wishes to "quit" or terminate employment as a provider, the individual must:

   1. (a) Give at least two weeks' notice;
   2. (b) Notify the client or the client's representative in writing; and
   3. (c) Notify the client's case manager.
2. (2) The individual will be expected to continue working until the termination date unless otherwise determined by DSHS.
